Privacy Policy
Covered — Returns, Warranties & Order Vault · Last updated October 28, 2026
The short version
- Your orders, order numbers, tracking numbers and store rules are stored only in your browser.
- We don't have an account system and we never receive what you buy.
- We don't sell data, show ads, or use analytics or tracking tools.
What Covered reads
- Order pages at Amazon, Target, Best Buy and Walmart. On their order-confirmation and order-details pages, Covered reads the order number, items, prices, delivery dates and tracking numbers.
- Other stores, only when you ask. When you click Save This Order or Check store, Covered reads that one tab.
- Order emails in Gmail, only if you turn it on. Covered reads only the email you have open, and only to find an order or tracking number. It never reads your inbox list or other emails.
- Your order pages, only if you turn on "Check my orders for tracking". Once a day, Covered opens the store's order page for orders still on their way in a muted background tab, reads the tracking number and status, and closes it. What it reads stays on your computer.
- Store policy pages, only if you ask or turn on "Spot shopping sites". Covered reads a store's own Returns, Warranty and Shipping pages, on the same website you're visiting, after you tap the button.
Where your data is kept
Everything above is saved in Chrome's local storage on your computer (chrome.storage.local). It is not uploaded to us. You can export it (CSV or calendar file) or delete all of it at any time from Covered's Settings, and uninstalling Covered deletes it.
What leaves your computer
| When | What is sent | To whom |
|---|---|---|
| You buy or activate Covered Plus | Your license key and a random install ID (no name, no purchases) | Our license server, and Creem (our payment provider) |
| You turn on Recall alerts | Item names only, once a week | U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall database (saferproducts.gov) |
| You turn on Live carrier status (when available) | Tracking number and carrier only | Our tracking relay, which asks the carrier |
Nothing else is sent. Payments are handled by Creem, which receives your payment details directly; we never see your card number.
